Volinsky Endorsed By Ben & Jerry

Iconic ice cream duo endorses as individuals, citing Volinsky’s commitment to getting big money out of politics

CONCORD, NH— Today, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, better known as the founders of Ben & Jerry's ice cream, announced their endorsement of Andru Volinsky for governor. Below is a photo of the two stumping for Bernie Sanders during Volinsky's annual "Party Like a Progressive" event held this past October 12th. The party included representation from a variety of presidential campaigns and local activists, who enjoyed excellent chili made by Andy's wife, Amy Goldstein.

"Ever since we met first met Andru at a Rights and Democracy event at Alex Ray's home in Plymouth during the summer of 2017, Andru has stood out as a true progressive champion who is committed to clean money and people-powered politics," said Ben Cohen. "We're brainstorming a new ice cream flavor to mark the occasion. We think we'll call it Volinsky's Courage Crunch, since Andru is the only candidate with the political courage to oppose new fossil fuel projects and reject corporate PAC and LLC money."

"Andru is the candidate who will talk the talk and walk the walk on ending the corrupting influence of money in politics," said Jerry Greenfield. "We'll always be with the candidate who rips up checks from corporations trying to buy influence, not those who pad their campaigns with checks from Eversource or Liberty Utilities."

"I couldn't be more thrilled to receive the endorsement of Ben and Jerry," said Volinsky. "I look forward to closing the LLC loophole, ensuring that every eligible voter can cast a vote that counts, and standing up to the monied interests that harm people and our planet."
