I understand I'm in a privileged position since this is my first job out of college but it really hit home how screwed up the US economy is if I'm worried about my future when I'm earning a lot more than most people. I'm socking away 25% of my pay and I still don't really understand how I'll be able to afford a car one day much less purchase a house or actually retire. I grew up super conservative but college showed me that picking yourself up by your bootstraps is rarely possible without any type of support structure, so here I am
