If you want to go to Harvard and you can afford it, that's your choice. You can pay to go there, it's not a public university.
But if you worked hard all through elementary/middle/high school and made good grades and got involved in activities or volunteering but you/your parents can't afford even the public college, that is not a system set up to allow yourself to better your position and your family's standing moving forward.
That's the reasoning behind the campaign for free college tuition at public universities.
Investing in our nation's education is a good way to invest in the strength of our nation.
