Idea for BERN app: a social tool to help Berners find/chat/organize with other Berners in their vicinity

Donate and support us on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/bePatron?c=1785147

A common complaint I hear from Bernie people is that they feel they are scattered in a sea of conservatives and centrists and don't know where or how to find one another. Many of them feel they are lone progressives in their communities.

I would love to see a feature in the Bern App where you could see a list of all the Bernie supporters/volunteers in your vicinity (they would have to sign up to use and be listed in this tool of course), and be able to chat with them, including have group conversations. The emphasis would be to help connect local Bernie people in order to more effectively organize in their communities. I could see it being useful to help people pool resources, figure what dates/times/places work for most people to hold events, etc. Perhaps each user can have their own customizable profile page where they can list what volunteer activities they are interested in, what resources/services/skills they can offer, etc. Of course there are logistics that would need to be figured out, but given how big Bernie's movement is and will be in the future, it would be a powerful feature to have if they can implement it successfully.

What do you guys think? Do you have other ideas you would like to see in the Bern app? I've already emailed this suggestion to the campaign, and they said they would pass it along. If you like the idea or have other ideas of your own, be sure to share them with the campaign as well at [email protected]berniesanders.com!

Help fr 2016 Berners requested to protect 2020 Berners

Donate and support us on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/bePatron?c=1785147

First post was removed because I didn’t specify how my post was linked to Bernie. Ok. I am asking for help from, thought it was obvious, BERNIE voters during 2016 Dem primaries. I’m trying to research how to protect BERNIE voters in the upcoming 2020 election cycle. To improve our chances we need to see what happened in the past to navigate the next cycle. So Are there any Berners out there that can remember which state certified the vote right in front of them? The committee certified the vote immediately and quietly when they sat down and without the Berners even realizing it. We need to get ahead of this kind of crap, which is what I’m trying to do with this post and why it’s relevant to Bernie’s 2020 campaign. Any help is appreciated- Apologies for run on sentences, form *mobile

Can we the Berners, Progressives, Revolutionaries, donate in solidarity to Mike Gravel to push the Overton Window to the left?

Donate and support us on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/bePatron?c=1785147

I really hope this case isn’t against the rules.

Mike Gravel is 1,400 donations away from making the July debates and the DEADLINE IS TONIGHT. He is pushing for Economics, Political & Social Justice in the same fashion as Bernie. As you may already know, He is not running to win but to be ferocious on the debate stage in calling out corruption of other candidates and talking about left-wing policy that goes to the heart of the issues such as profit-sharing, canceling student debt, ending the wars and so much more.

https://www.MikeGravel.org/issues

https://secure.actblue.com/donate/mikegravel2020

All it takes is $ 1. All extra proceeds are going to the people of flint Michigan affected by the water crisis.

10 $ 1 donations is better than 1 $ 10 donation!

We must build left-wing support in unity. This is why I’m posting here. Can we do it and push Mike Gravel to the stage! I donated $ 1 to Mike & $ 5 to Bernie.

Florida Berners, I want to campaign with you.

Donate and support us on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/bePatron?c=1785147

I live in NYC, but I was born and raised in Florida. I think Bernie has a really good chance to win Florida both in the primary and the general.

My thinking: 1 million newly registered felons aren’t going to vote for the guy from wrote the crime bill or the prosecutor who put it into action.

I’m interested in joining up with the Bernie campaign when you guys head out on the Florida trail. (Plus, it’s a good excuse to see my fam.) If anyone knows of any canvassing groups in any part of the state, please let me know.

Can some NY Berners please provide some clarification?

Donate and support us on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/bePatron?c=1785147

When exactly is deadline for independents and other non-democrats to be able to register in order to vote in the Democratic primary next year? Some say it’s May 19th, others May 30th, and yet others says it’s in October. So please tell me, if New Yorkers want to be able to vote for Bernie in the NY Primary next year when is the the exact deadline?

I want to be able to share the correct information. We really need to push for NY Berners to register before time runs out. The sooner the better.

I’m a little ashamed of my fellow Berners atm

Donate and support us on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/bePatron?c=1785147

I am a Bernie supporter (I still have my Bernie 2016 magnet on my car, not that that matters). but I’ve recently also tried to do my “due diligence” and have researched the other candidates, and Pete Buttigieg and Elizabeth Warren have become my next choices if for some reason Bernie isn’t our next candidate. But in the past few days, this subreddit has seemingly gone from a pro-Bernie subreddit to an anti-Buttigieg one based on out-of-context quotations and misinformation. Isn’t this subreddit about supporting the best candidate and his compatriots instead of attacking fellow progressives with shaky interpretations of out-of-context quotes? I adore Bernie, and I hope he’s our next candidate, but I also think Warren and Buttigieg have legit conversations to bring to the table., and maybe after an in-detail conversation, one of them could maybe steer Bernie into a new and better idea (he has changed his stance before after these kinds of conversations, as he should, because he’s a generous human who understands that we can’t all know everything always).

Should either Warren or Buttigieg be president? Maybe not. But I’d rather have Warren and Buttigieg on that debate stage with Bernie pushing the conversation to the lefty instead of Biden, Beto, Booker or Gillibrand.

Bernie has brought the party to the left (but not far enough, obviously), and he had inspired other voices to come to the table (who maybe we’re not all 100% on board with, but who are still closer than the party was). So while they may not necessarily agree on all points, that are still having a better conversation than the simple left-v-centrist one, and that helps Bernie normalize his message

So I guess my question is, can we stop attacking those who are basically on our side? Can this be a pro-Bernie subreddit instead of being an anti-Buttigieg/Warren subreddit?

Young and old Berners

Donate and support us on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/bePatron?c=1785147

For those of you who are young/dont know, one of the original left wing websites was democraticunderground.com

During the bloody 2016 primary battle, skinner, the website webmaster, began banning bernie supporters left and right. Any mere mention of negativity towards hillary will.still get you banned to this day, and the site is now full of bernie hate. (Its like t_d, but for corporate democrats).

So where did the bernie supporters go? Jackpineradicals.com. named after jack pine, a long time contributor and one of the first bernie supporters to be banned.

Id encourage everyone to check them out. The average age of contributors is over 50.

It is our parents reddit.
