Out of curiosity, are there any stats on people contacted in Iowa?

I know Bernie's website has the call counter but I'm curious about textbanking numbers, canvassing numbers and how many people haven't been contacted in some form yet overall. This data may not be available but I felt it was worth asking.

Nothing Against Bernie! Love the guy, but I just don’t think he’s quite fully thought through a lot of these. Here’s a run down of his most popular policies and how they will affect Americans.

1st. His M4A will put millions of Americans in the private health insurance industry out of jobs. Also, put a major dent in private insurance revenues, which initially sounds like a great thing, until you think about the fact that modern insurance companies are like banks. They have heavily invested over 90% of their liquidity in all markets, so if they take a hit so will the entire economy causing millions to loose jobs across all industries. Andrew Yang wants a government healthcare to compete against private insurance, basic economics, increase competition means lower prices. A far more practical and less disruptive solutions.

2nd. Bernies “free college” also terrible solution, because no country in the world has college readily available jobs for every single citizen. That’s not viable in any manner, Andrews highly viable solution, invest in vocational training. In Germany, one of the best economies in the world, vocational trained jobs are 60% of the markets, while America is sitting at 6%.

3rd. Bernies climate change plan, to tax carbon more make absolute no sense whatsoever. These companies will and continue to only operate in the best interest of their shareholders. If carbon is at a higher tax then gas will just be at 3 dollars a gallon again. That’s what they already do in California. Scientifically, the yield for carbon to energy is still so much more that they will not invest other renewable resources. Andrews plan is to have government funded research into nuclear and thorium. Thorium has all the benefits of nuclear without the long ass half-life.

4th. Bernies wealth tax, has been tried and failed in 7 other countries. What makes you think this time is any different? Also, his touting of 1% will make the Democratic Party loosing millions of votes on the basis that majority of that 1% do pay more than their fair share. They pay majority of the taxes in any community they are in in a very small collective of numbers. While it’s true, that the 1% of that 1%, billionaires don’t pay there fair share his wealth tax doesn’t take into account to separate those to categories. Also, billionaires have millionaire accountants and lawyers who will do everything in their power to evade those taxes, that why it didn’t work for so many countries. Andrews VAT tax will generate 7 Times the amount of money. 7 times that of the wealth tax and he will give $ 1000/month to every American Citizens from 18 till the age they die. Eradicating the scarcity mindset we tend to panic to, that 78% of Americans are struggling with. Most of these millionaires are employers who have created many jobs within their communities and have worked very hard to do so. They have won the American dream through blood, sweat, and tears. They will hang on to their money and just lay people off if they are taxed higher.

5th. Both Bernie and Andrew and pro peace but Andrew is the only candidate talking about giving the declaration of war powers back to congress where it was originally in our constitution.

6th. With my point made in the 4th paragraph, many Trump supporters are those millionaires who will never vote for Bernies wealth tax. And sure, America is home to more millionaires than ever but that’s still only roughly 6% but it’s also the people these millionaires have influenced. Their friends who are usually ride or die, family, and close employees are enough people to swing an election. Multiple 3rd party studies have shown Trump supporters would vote for Andrew but not Bernie. Making Andrew the best candidate to go against Trump.

Next time when people knock free college for all in favor of a system ‘where the rich pay more’, tell them this

Donate and support us on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/bePatron?c=1785147

At this time I would like to make argue for free college for all, and why it's better than having a system where richer families pay more (they actually would).

Income verification is a costly and time consuming process, for both the school and the recipients. I got some amazing financial aid, but every year we have to do a time of paperwork, and verifications, even into the school year. A lot of people don't get their financial aid until way after class registration begins, and so people who already have the money get first picks for classes. Finally, there are a lot of parents who are just assholes. There are many cases where people get kicked out cut off at age 18, especially among LGBTQ people.

There are also cases of families who may get some misconceptions about how much they would have to pay. That's what happened to me. It wasn't until I made some details plans about how I would pay for college that I applied, and found out that it really wasn't going to be anywhere as near as how much I thought it would be. I almost didn't apply for college at all, just because it was really unclear about how much I would have to end up paying, maybe even impossible without applying first. There will be many families who won't apply first.

Another issue is that colleges are jacking up prices across the country. Some of these costs come from resort style landscaping, logo designs from time design firms, PR firms (UC Davis paid 6 figures for damage control regarding the paper spray incident), and probably a lot of other things students may not want to pay for, especially for staying in college debt until your 50s like Barack and Michelle Obama did. But there's little collective forces to oppose these adminstristrations' decisions. Right now just the people attending or about to attend school. Once they graduate, everything's already paid for, and now they're just focusing on dealing with the debt. If the money is coming primarily from all the tax payers, there's much more leverage and tools to audit and negotiate with university spending.

The Rich not paying more for college in free college or all is a myth. They will pay more, to the IRS. We don't need to waste money on a separate income verification and distribution system at every single school. We already have a refined and robust system, the IRS.

Free college for all is not just something that we should pay for to 'invest in our kids'. It's the most economically efficient approach to college.

The importance of just talking to people

Donate and support us on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/bePatron?c=1785147

I went to urgent care yesterday (I'm totally fine it wasn't a big deal) but I wore my Bernie buttons on my jacket as I always do when I leave the house. I ended up giving out three extra buttons that I carry with me to the nurses who noticed the buttons and asked me about Bernie Sanders. A couple of the nurses did not even know he was running for president again! They said they voted for him in 2016 but didn't realize he was running again because "We never hear about him on the news" (I should be posting this on r/bernieblindness lol)

I talked to them all about how he is still running and is almost in first place nationally. I hammered home the date of March 10 (Michigan's primary) and encouraged them to make sure they're still registered to vote on vote.org

The whole point of me telling this story is to highlight how important it is to just get out and talk to people. Anybody. The time of "I'm too awkward to talk to strangers" or "It's taboo in America to talk about politics" absolutely has to end. This is too important. I can't help but feel like Bernie picked up a couple more votes because of the conversations I had yesterday.

Anyways I just wanted to share that with you all. If you've been waiting on a sign to drop those social barriers you have put up and get out and just talk to people (whether it's in line at a store, the nurses at the doctor's office, your coworkers, your friends at the New Years Party coming up) this is the sign. Talk about Bernie. There are still people out there who don't know he is even running. Please. My (and your) future depends on him getting elected. We need your help.
