Avid Bernie Sanders supporter trying to bring over Pete Buttigieg fans who abandoned Bernie after 2016

The problem I keep running into is Pete advocates for a lot of Bernie's policy ideas, and openly admits he is a fan of Bernie and looks up to him. His supporters basically call him a young Bernie Sanders. The problem I am having is when I finally get them to admit Bernie is the best option for a truly progressive candidate, they say he is too old and they'd rather someone younger with his ideas, and say Buttigieg embodies that. Help me help Sanders. Why should American progressives back Bernie over Pete?

How is B. Sanders on LBGTQ+, but Trans issues in particular?

Hey, I'm a trans woman from Texas and this is somewhat my primary concern when it comes to a candidate for fairly obvious reasons. A lot of my trans friends and queer friends in general support Sanders and tell me he's the best current candidate in regards to trans rights, protections, etc. I've seen him comment on gay rights, etc. prior, but LBGTQ+ does not often include the T, let alone indicate an accurate indication of where people stand on those exclusive issues. I'm admittedly very uninformed about Bernie Sanders so excuse my ignorance please. I'd appreciate any links, interviews, etc. Also how does Bernie compare on this to other 2020 democrat runners? Thanks.
